Gutter Repair & Cleaning in Surrey and North Hampshire
A blocked gutter looks harmless. It isn't. Water spills over the edge, runs down your walls and soaks into the brickwork. It can rot fascias and cause damp inside. In winter it can freeze, which makes everything worse.

MJS Roofing clears and repairs gutters across Surrey and North Hampshire. We get your gutters running freely again and fix whatever is causing the trouble. Gutters overflowing? Call 01252 308591 or send a message for a free quote.
Signs your gutters need attention
- Water overflowing at the edge in the rain
- Drips or streams coming from the joints
- Gutters sagging or pulling away from the house
- Green or black stains on the walls below
- Plants or moss growing in the gutter
- Water running down the wall instead of down the pipe
- A downpipe that's blocked or gurgling
You can often spot these from the ground. Watch your gutters during a heavy shower. It tells you a lot.
Gutter cleaning
Leaves, moss, silt and grit from the roof build up in gutters all year. We clear it out, clear the downpipes and check the water runs away freely. It's a quick job that can prevent a much bigger one.
As a rule, get your gutters cleaned at least once a year, ideally in autumn after the leaves have fallen. If you have trees close to the house, twice a year is better. While we're up there, we'll look at the roof edge, the fascias and the tiles nearby, and tell you if we spot anything.

Common questions
Gutter Repair & Cleaning questions
How often should I get my gutters cleaned?
At least once a year, ideally in autumn. If you have trees close by, twice a year is better.
How much does gutter cleaning cost?
It depends on the size of the house, how many gutters and downpipes it has and how blocked they are. We'll give you a fixed price before we start.
What if you find a leak while cleaning?
If it's a simple fix, like resealing a joint, we can tell you the price and do it there and then. Bigger repairs we'll quote for separately.
Do gutter guards help?
They can cut down on leaves, especially near trees. They still need checking, because moss and silt can build up on top of them. We'll tell you whether they make sense for your house.
